Welcome to The Event Edit. These Terms & Conditions govern the use of our website and the hire of products and styling pieces from The Event Edit. By submitting a quote request, placing a booking, or using our website, you agree to the following terms.
1. Definitions
"We", "Us", "Our" refers to The Event Edit.
"You", "Client" refers to the person or business hiring items.
"Hire Items" refers to all products, styling pieces, florals, plinths, vessels and hire inventory.
"Hire Period" refers to the agreed collection and return timeframe.
2. Quote Requests & Bookings

Submitting a quote request does not secure your items.

All bookings are subject to availability.

A booking is only confirmed once:

The quote is accepted, and
-
The required payment and bond are received.
-

Quotes are valid for 7 days unless otherwise stated.
-
We reserve the right to amend pricing prior to booking confirmation.
3. Minimum Spend
-
A minimum hire spend of $150 AUD applies to all bookings.
-
The minimum spend applies to hire items only.
-
The minimum spend excludes delivery, setup, removal, bond, and any additional fees.
-
We reserve the right to decline bookings that do not meet the minimum spend.
4. Delivery, Setup & Removal
-
Delivery, setup and removal services are available at an additional cost.
-
Pricing for these services will be outlined in your quote.
-
Delivery fees are calculated based on location, access, timing and item quantity.
-
You must ensure safe and reasonable access for delivery and collection.
-
If access is not available at the agreed time, additional fees may apply.
-
We are not responsible for delays caused by venue access restrictions.
-
Setup includes placement of hire items only unless otherwise agreed.
-
Styling of florals or repositioning of items after setup is not included unless specified.
-
Removal will occur at a pre‑agreed time.
-
Items must not be moved after setup unless approved.
4. Hire Fees & Payments

Full payment is required to secure your booking unless otherwise agreed.

Payment confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
-
All prices are listed in AUD.
-
Prices are subject to change without notice until booking is confirmed.
5. Bond / Security Deposit
-
A refundable bond is required for all bookings.
-
The bond amount will be confirmed on your quote.
-
The bond is refunded once all items are returned:
-
On time
-
In original condition
-
Clean and undamaged
-
-
We reserve the right to deduct from the bond for:
-
Damage
-
Loss
-
Late returns
-
Excess cleaning
-
Missing components
-
6. Hire Period
-
Standard hire period is agreed at time of booking.
-
Late returns may incur additional hire fees.
-
If items are not returned, replacement costs will apply.
7. Collection & Returns (DIY Hire)
-
DIY hire collection is available Thursday at a time agreed between our team and the client.
-
Return of hire items is Monday unless otherwise agreed in writing.
-
Specific collection and return times will be confirmed prior to your booking.
-
Late returns incur a late return fee equal to 50% of the hire fee per additional day.
-
Items not returned within 48 hours of the agreed return time may be charged at full replacement cost.
-
Additional recovery or collection fees may apply where items are not returned as agreed.
-
Early collection or late return requests are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
-
You are responsible for transporting items safely.
-
Items must be returned in the same packaging where applicable.
-
Items must be returned in the same condition as collected.
-
Items must not be left unattended upon return unless agreed.
8. Condition of Hire Items
-
All items are inspected prior to collection.
-
You accept items in their current condition upon collection.
-
Many items are vintage, handmade, or delicate and may show minor imperfections.
-
These are not considered faults.
9. Use of Hire Items
You agree:

To use items for their intended purpose only
-
Not to modify, paint, glue, or alter items
-
Not to use items outdoors unless approved
-
Not to expose items to water, wax, or weather damage
-
Not to use real flame candles unless approved
10. Damage, Loss & Breakages
-
You are responsible for all hired items during the hire period.
-
Damaged or lost items will be charged at replacement cost.
-
Replacement cost is determined by us.
-
Partial damage may incur repair fees.
11. Cleaning
-
Items must be returned in the same condition received.
-
Excessive cleaning may incur additional fees.
-
Florals must not be dismantled.
-
Wax, tape, glue, or residue removal may incur cleaning charges.
12. Cancellation Policy
-
Cancellations must be made in writing.
-
Payments are non-refundable.
-
At our discretion, payments may be transferred to a future date.
-
Date changes are subject to availability.
13. Changes to Bookings
-
Changes to quantities or items are subject to availability.
-
We will do our best to accommodate requests but cannot guarantee changes.
14. Non-Return of Items
If items are not returned:

Replacement cost will be charged
-
Bond will be forfeited
-
Additional recovery fees may apply
15. Liability
-
Hire items are used at your own risk.
-
We are not liable for injury, damage, or loss resulting from use of our items.
-
You are responsible for ensuring safe setup and use.
16. Styling & Visual Representation
-
Images are for inspiration and styling guidance.
-
Colours and finishes may vary.
-
Styling accessories shown in images may not be included unless specified.
17. Weather
-
You are responsible for weather protection of items.
-
Weather damage is treated as damage.
18. Refusal of Hire
We reserve the right to refuse hire where:

Items may be damaged
-
Terms are not followed
-
Payment is not received
19. Website Use

All content on this website is owned by The Event Edit.

Images may not be copied without permission.
-
Pricing and availability may change.
20. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting a quote request or placing a booking, you confirm that:

21. Australian Consumer Law (ACL)
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation that cannot be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law:

Our liability is limited to the hire fee paid

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss

We are not liable for third‑party costs arising from item failure
22. Title & Risk

All hire items remain the property of The Event Edit at all times
-
Risk passes to you upon collection or delivery
-
Risk transfers back to us once items are returned and inspected
-
You are responsible for theft, damage, and loss during the hire period
23. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Event Edit against:

Loss or damage to hire items
-
Injury caused by use of hire items
-
Claims made by third parties
-
Misuse or incorrect setup of items
This indemnity survives the return of items.
24. Force Majeure
We are not liable for failure to perform where such failure is due to events beyond our reasonable control including but not limited to:

Weather events
-
Natural disasters
-
Transport disruption
-
Illness
-
Government restrictions
-
Venue cancellation
In such cases, payments may be transferred to a future booking at our discretion.
25. Jurisdiction (NSW)
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
You agree that any disputes will be handled within the courts of New South Wales.
26. Photography & Marketing Use
We reserve the right to photograph hired items for:

Website use
-
Social media
-
Marketing material
This may include images taken at your event unless otherwise requested in writing.
27. Severability
If any part of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining sections will continue to apply.
The Event Edit reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time.
